Luminaria Setup Information
Prepare for the Event
Kits contain 10 bags, 10 votive candles, and enough sand to fill the bags. Fill each bag in your kit with one cup of sand and add the candle in the center of the bag. Place bags about 5 feet apart along the curb (not in the street, please). Light candles at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, December 18 to kick off the holiday season.
Enjoy visiting with neighbors on this quiet night and wander around Greenbrier to appreciate the beauty of various neighborhoods.
Important Cleanup Information
Cleanup is Important
It is important that we correctly dispose of all debris from this event to avoid littering the environment and inconveniencing neighbors whose property floods from clogged storm drains. Sand dumped at the curb of your yard and bags left in the street wash away and clog storm drains during winter storms.
Sand can be recycled in your back yard to fill holes or other uses; candles and bags can be disposed of in your weekly trash collection. If you have neighbors who do not or cannot remove the debris, please give them a hand.
